Privacy Policy
Wiseguys Hold 'Em (the “Game”) is a play-money Texas Hold'em game that runs as an Activity inside Discord, operated by Wiseguys Ltd. (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the Game handles and what we do with it. The short version: we use your Discord name and picture to show you at the table, we don't keep a database of players, and we don't sell or share your information for advertising.
1. What we receive from Discord
When you open the Game, Discord asks you to let it share your basic profile (the identify permission). We receive:
- your Discord user ID;
- your username and display name;
- your profile picture (an image address on Discord's servers), if you have one;
- the ID of the Activity session you joined, which is how players in the same session end up at the same table.
We do not ask for your email address, your server list, your friends, your messages, or your voice or audio.
To confirm who you are, your browser gives our server a temporary Discord access token. We use it once to ask Discord to verify your identity, and we do not store it.
2. Information about your play
While a table is open, our server keeps the game in memory: your seat, your play-money chips, your cards, and your bets and actions. This is not written to a database or to disk, and nothing carries over to another game. When the table closes or goes idle, it is discarded.
3. What other players see
Other players at your table can see your Discord display name and profile picture, your play-money chips, and your actions in the game. Cards are revealed to others only at showdown, as in normal poker.
4. Technical information
The Game is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the service, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and basic request details, and may keep short-term operational and security logs under its own policies. We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools, and we don't collect or store IP addresses ourselves.
Inside Discord the Game doesn't use cookies or browser storage for tracking. If you open the Game in an ordinary web browser for testing, it may keep a temporary guest name in that tab's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. Cloudflare may also use security cookies to protect the site.
5. How we use information
We use the information above only to run the Game: to sign you in, seat you at a table, show you to the other players, deal and score hands, and keep the service secure and working. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or marketing.
6. Who we share it with
- Discord, which provides the sign-in and the Activity platform.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the Game.
- Other players at your table, as described in section 3.
- Authorities, only if we are legally required to, or to protect people's safety or the Game.
We do not sell or license your information. We do not give information we receive from Discord to data brokers, advertisers, or advertising networks.
7. How long we keep it
We keep no persistent record of players or games. Game information lives in memory only while a table is active and is discarded afterwards. Any logs kept by Cloudflare follow Cloudflare's own retention periods.
8. Your choices and requests
- You can stop sharing your profile with the Game at any time in Discord under User Settings → Authorized Apps, by removing Wiseguys Hold 'Em.
- You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us (section 12). Because we don't keep a player database, there is usually nothing stored, and we will tell you so.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, such as access, correction, deletion, or objection. Contact us and we will respond.
9. Children
The Game is for people old enough to use Discord (13 or older, or older where the law requires). It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has used the Game, contact us.
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), verifying every player's identity with Discord, and keeping our Discord credentials in secure storage. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of unauthorized access to personal information, we will notify affected users and Discord as required.
11. Where information is processed
Discord and Cloudflare operate globally, so information may be processed in countries other than your own.
12. Contact and changes
